It’s been a while since we heard anything about an Gerald’s Game adaptation (back in 2014 to be more exact) but Mike Flanagan is still determine to make it happen. Rue Morgue recently spoke to Mike…

With OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL ready for its October release, director Mike Flanagan is confident that his long-mooted adaptation of Stephen King’s novel GERALD’S GAME will get off the ground next. And he’s committed to doing right by the book—about a woman left handcuffed to a bed in a remote cabin after a sex romp with her husband goes awry—knowing that the track record of King movies has been the definition of uneven.

New Contest With Secret Prize!

I can’t get enough of contest here at Lilja’s Library and since 2016 is the year Lilja’s Library turns 20 I guess it’s OK to run a lot of contests right?

So, if you want to get the chance to win a really cool prize (for now a secret prize) you should check out this contest. To enter you need to send in a photo of you and something connected to Lilja’s Library (if you have already have you are automatically entered in the contest). Here is an example of how a photo could look (Marv is not allowed to enter though) and you can also check out the real competition here.

I will then pick the photo I like the best (what I like is for me to know and you to find out) as the winner. If you have already sent a photo and think: “darn I should have been more creative”, then just send another one.

Good Luck / Lilja

The Winner Has Been Selected!

The Folio Society Shining Contest is over. You all know by now that the prize is a signed copy of The Folio Society’s beautiful edition of The Shining. A lot of you sent in the six photos that you had to send in to enter and first I want to thank you all for that. I love seeing King fans and their collections.

Secondly I would like to bring you attention to the fact that if you didn’t win this time, you should check out this contest. It’s almost the same. Here you only need to send in a photo of you and something connected to Lilja’s Library though and the good thing is that if you have already sent in a photo you have already entered. But now you have to be creative. The Folio contest winner was selected randomly but in this one I will pick the photo I like the best. And if you have already sent a photo and think: “darn I should have been more creative”, then just send another one. BTW, the prize for this one is still a secret.

OK, and now over to what you have all been waiting for…the winner is…

Here in an interview with Nicholas Hamilton who plays Henry Bowers in IT.

Earlier this month, actor Nicholas Hamilton talked to Variety about his experience playing the psychopathic bully Henry Bowers in the upcoming movie adaptation of Stephen King’s 1986 horror epic It. Award-winning actor Hamilton revealed that playing the horrifically over-the-top Stephen King villain took him to places he never thought he would get to go as an actor, and it is understandable why when one looks at the maniac Stephen King penned over two decades ago.

Two Days Left To Win A Signed King Book

Only two days left on the contest where you can win a SIGNED Stephen King book!!!

How? Head over here to find out and so far, there are only 76 entries. Check out the numbers below and you'll see that since you need one photo in every category to enter the contest the lowest number is the number of possible entries. It could be fewer but not more.

This means that a lot of you that have photos on…say the Mr Mercedes page won’t be entered since you are missing photos in others. So, SEND IN THOSE MISSING PHOTOS, TIME IS RUNNING OUT

In other words, if you haven't sent in photos in all categories, DO IT! If you haven't sent in any photos at all, DO IT!. There is a SIGNED Stephen King book to be won and if you still need a reason to do it...today is actually my birthday and you could see it as a birthday gift to me 

- Mr Mercedes (304)
- Revival (150)
- Finders Keepers (104)
- You & Lilja's Library (83)
- The Bazaar of Bad Dreams (81)
- End of Watch (76)

ON THIS DAY IN 2012...

Today 14 years ago I did my very first interview about King. It was with BBC radio and a lot of it was about King’s claims that he would retire from publishing. I guess we know now that I was right when I said I thought he would keep publishing books for many years to come…

King Translated Into 54 Different Languages

Did you know that King’s books has been released in 54 different languages? Well they have and I actually have one in each language. BUT, there might still be more languages out there that has books translated. After all back in 2009 there were 6,909 distinct languages spoken on earth. So, take a look at the list of books here and let me know if you know of any other language that there are King books translated into.

Thanks! / Lilja

Amy Wilson has been back on the set of IT and returned with a lot of interesting photos. Unfortunately she couldn't get too close, but with a zoom lens she was able to snap a few photos of IT as the Leper and (what looks like) a young Eddie going up to the house on Neibolt Street!

Here is the Leper...before he's too monstrous sitting on the ground.

And here in makeup...

Listen To Batman and Robin Have an Altercation

Here you can listen to Stephen Lang reading Batman and Robin Have an Altercation as well as an interview with Stu Tinker.

In this episode actor Stephen Lang reads, “Batman and Robin Have an Altercation”, a -shall we say- intense story about family, love, and dying by Stephen King (yes, THAT Stephen King, need we say more?). Host Aparna Nancherla talks to Stu Tinker, a Stephen King superfan from King’s hometown of Bangor, Maine (get ready for that accent!). For nearly 20 years he’s been giving tours the spots that have inspired so many of author’s stories.

Contest Reminder

Posted: August 15, 2016, 12:10
_
I just want to remind everyone about the contest where you can win a signed King book. What you have to do is send in a photo of you with some specific King books. One photo of you and “Mr Mercedes”, one with you and “Finders Keepers”, one with you and “End of Watch”, one with you and “The Bazaar of Bad Dreams”, one with you and “Revival” and one with you and something connected to Lilja’s Library. You can read all about the contest here .

A lot of you have sent in just a few photos but not all six and I’d hate to see you lose out on this contest because you’re missing one photo. Imagine being one photo away from a signed King book? Scary I know. And based on the number of photos in each section a lot of you might be in this position. So, make sure you send in all six photos and then keep your fingers crossed.

Mr Mercedes = 289 photos
Revival = 135 photos
Finders Keepers = 88 photos
Lilja’s Library = 67 photos
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams = 65 photos
End of Watch = 60 photos

And remember, anyone, anywhere can enter!

Here are my photos:

More Photos From The IT Set

Here are a few more photos from the set of IT by Amy Wilson. That house is looking really scary now. The house next door has some boards up (though they need to edit out their solar panels), there are old cars all over the Place and if there was any doubt left that it was the house on Neibolt Street, the 29 on the rusty gate puts that to rest.
