An Update On The Sleeping Beauties Book Tour

When asked if there would be pre-signed books at the Sleeping Beauties tour stops or if Stephen and Owen would be signing “live” the moderator on King’s board said:

No signings on this tour.

That probably means there will be pre-signed books given out at random to those who attend. Last tour there were about 400 at each stop.

Also, closing in on the half-way-mark now and so far, it looks like I’ll be attending one stop at the tour. A huge thanks to everyone who has donated!

Joe Hill's NOS4A2 Heading To AMC

Posted: June 3, 2017, 08:38
_
Most of you have read Joe Hill's and now it's being considdered by AMC for a TV series. Here is what Bloody Disgusting reports.

While Stephen King fever sweeps screens both big and small, King’s equally talented son is having a streak of good fortune in his own right. We’ve just learned that AMC is developing a TV series based on Joe Hill’s NOS4A2 (pronounced Nosferatu), the author’s third novel. It was published back in 2013.

The Wrap reports that AMC has opened up a writers’ room for the potential series, part of the network’s scripts-to-series model which “skips the pilot process and instead appoints groups of writers to develop a first season bible and write several episodes, after which AMC decides whether to grant a straight-to-series order.”

So, again, thanks to all of you that have donated and maybe we’ll meet in the fall?

For those of you that have no idea what I’m talking about, all info is here.

Thumbs Up & New Photos From Mr Mercedes

The New York Times gives Mr Mercedes a thumbs up.

Mr. Mercedes
Season 1, AT&T/DirecTV, Aug. 9

Based on its first two episodes, this dramatization of the Edgar Award-winning 2014 mystery novel of the same title is the Stephen King adaptation to watch this summer. (Spike’s version of “The Mist” debuts June 22.) David E. Kelley wrote the 10-episode series about a retired detective taunted by a mass killer he couldn’t catch. It has a bit of a “Mr. Robot” vibe and an interesting cast that includes Brendan Gleeson, Holland Taylor, Breeda Wool, Kelly Lynch and Mary-Louise Parker. Harry Treadaway of “Penny Dreadful” plays the killer, replacing Anton Yelchin, who died last year before filming began.

Here are a few now photos from Mr Mercedes.

My thoughts on The Mist Pilot

Here is my review (pretty spoiler free) of the first episode of The Mist TV series. It premiers June 22 on Spike.

The Mist is here! The TV series that is. And let’s start with the elephant in the room. Is it a straight adaptation of King’s story?

King and Chizmar’s collaboration, Gwendy’s Button Box, is out and you know what that means…

I want to put together a page with photos of you all and your copy of Gwendy’s Button Box. All you need to do is send me a photo (this should open an email but if it doesn’t, send the photo to info[a]liljas-library.com) of yourself and the book (any edition works) and I’ll post them here. If you don’t want to send it by email you can also post it on the facebook page and I’ll grab it there. I would also like to ask you to include your name, town and country so that I can list that with the photo. You can see what it will look like at the Mr Mercedes page, the Revival page, the Finders Keepers page, Bazzar of Bad Dreams page, End of Watch page or the Charlie the Choo Choo page.

Check out all the Gwendy’s Button Box photos here.

Let's get those photos collected! Some of you are even on all pages, GOOD WORK!

Pennywise: The Story of IT Documentary

Posted: May 24, 2017, 08:54

You have heard about this before and now the time to help getting this documentary done is here. Pennywise: The Story of IT Documentary will be 3-hours long and cover everything about the 1990 adaptation of King’s books including over 20 interviews and over 2 hours of never-before-seen set footage from SFX wizard Bart Mixon. To make it happen the filmmakers need your help though and they are giving you a great opportunity to help and also get something in return. Besides the documentary itself your pledge will give you a copy of the documentary on DVD or blu-ray, a t-shirt or other cool stuff depending on how much you give.

Personally, I’m certain that they will get the money they need to make this documentary, the only question is if you will take the chance to be a part of it. Check out the video and then head over here to read all about it and find out how you can help.
