Good ratings for Nightmares & Dreamscapes

Nightmares & Dreamscapes got a strong start.

The TNT anthology "Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King" scared up strong ratings in its Wednesday debut, finishing No. 1 and No. 2 in basic cable for the night with back-to-back episodes.

The first installment of the anthology, the William Hurt-starring "Battleground," drew 5.2 million total viewers at 9 p.m. More importantly, its 18-49 and 25-54 demo totals were the highest a scripted cable series has seen year-to-date, topping a mark set last week by the new USA Network drama "Psych."

A second "Nightmares" episode at 10 p.m., "The Crouch End," reached 4.8 million.

Many of you have mailed me about a 2-page pull-out, pop-up advertisement for Nightmares & Dreamscapes. There has been some questions about what this is (and many have been having problems finding it) so now I'm happy to be able to show you a picture of it.

The pop-up is a house of cards revealing the primary characters in the miniseries. It's basically the same image that can be seen on the official site.

Correction about Nightmares & Dreamscapes

Posted: December 2, 2005, 12:59
_
First I want to make a correction to yesterday's news. The airdates I had put in yesterday's news for Nightmares & Dreamscapes wasn't 100% sure. The series will start airing on or around June 15, 2006 and a new episode will follow each week for a total of 8 weeks. So the air schedule will be something like the one I gave but we have to wait a while longer before that is confirmed. The first episode, Umney’s Last Case, will be shown completely without commercial breaks, How about that?

Thanks to MG.

The gorgeous Gibney, best known for her role in the Aussie series’ and telemovies’ “The Flying Doctors”, “Come in Spinner” and “Halifax F.P”, has joined the cast of the eight-part telemovie series “Nightmares and Dreamscapes” co-starring Harold Hopkins, William H.Macy, Sigrid Thornton, Jacqueline McKenzie, Jeremy Sisto, Andy Anderson and Henry Thomas. The series films here in Melbourne until Feb 2006.

Gibney will also be seen in the new film “Lost and Found”, about an Award-winning architect that’s facing a glittering future as long as he can come to terms with his traumatic past. Brett Climo co-stars.
