The Dune vs. The Dune

Here is something for all your completest out there. It looks like there are some difference between the versions of The Dune that is in the printed version of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and the audio edition of the same book. The reason for this is that the audiobook version was recorded before King made the edits for the hardcover release of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and released as part of the Mile 81 audiobook (2012). Then they used the earlier version rather than re-record it for the audio edition of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.

The changes are not just a deleted or added word but whole sentences omitted or added. And there are quite a few of them.

So, if you want to experience every version of the story…you now got two.

King’s latest book, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, is out and I would like to do the same thing I did when his preivous books was released. I want to put together a page with photos of you all and your copy of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams. All you need to do is send me a photo (this should open an email but if it dosn't, send the photo to info[a]liljas-library.com) of yourself and the book (any edition works) and I’ll post them here. If you don’t want to send it by email you can also post it on the Facebook page and I’ll grab it there. Got this in the mail yesterday. It's the UK paperback edition of Revival (out Sep. 10) and besides the book it also contains parts of the intro by King to The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, parts of the intro to Mile 81 and part of Mile 81.

Today Simon & Schuster posted some new info about The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and also gave us 4 new titles. That makes it 8 known titles so far.

The Guardian has published an article about the upcoming The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and King’s editor at Hodder & Stoughton, Philippa Pride, gives us some updates on the book.

- It will be published on 3 November 2015

- It will Contain 20 short stories by King (a mix of new writing and work already collected in magazines)

- There will be introductions to each story by King in which he will provide “autobiographical comments on when, why and how he came to write it”, as well as “the origins and motivation of each story”.

Drunken Fireworks will be released on June 30 as an audio book and then included in The Bazaar of Bad Dreams when it's released in November. Here is what's posted on King's site about it.

King has confirmed that Bad Little Kid will be included in The Bazaar of Bad Dreams. This was posted in the official forum.

I asked Steve last week if there was any update on the TOC and got this response:
".....the final table of contents hasn’t been decided,
either the stories or the order, but that one of the longer ones has never
been published in this country, and some not at all."

King Working on Edits for The Bazaar of Bad Dreams

The Moderator over at King's board had an update on what King is working on.

Last week he told me he was working on edits for The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and had a new short story in the wings. I haven't read that one yet but couldn't say more even if I had.

Not sure if the short story mentioned is for the book or not though...

Here is another new interview with King about Revival. In it he also mentions Finders Keepers and The Bazaar of Bad Dreams; a collection with

King is already looking ahead to next year, with Finders Keepers (the sequel to Mr. Mercedes) out in June.

And in the fall of 2015 there will be a new collection of stories called The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, which'll collect about 20 short tales. It should be a pretty fat book.

The list has already been set but I can't reveal yet which ones made the cut.

And on a question about if it would just contain stories or also poems and essays the answer was:

Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers & A Collection

King just posted this letter about Mr Mercedes, Finders keepers (out next spring) and a possible collection next fall.

Dear Constant Reader,

Mr. Mercedes is the first volume of a projected trilogy concerning Bill Hodges, his friends…and his enemies. The second volume, Finders Keepers, is finished (in first draft, at least) and will be published in the first half of 2015, perhaps followed by a book of new stories in the fall (or not). Anyway, these three novels seem to revolve around the City Center Massacre that opens Mr. Mercedes. Because of that, I wanted to post a complete list of those killed and injured in Brady Hartsfield’s attack. Some of these unfortunates have other parts to play. As always, I’m glad you’re along for the ride, but be warned: there are some sharp turns ahead, and I’m a really crazy driver.
