The airing of last Friday’s episode of Haven was delayed due to the recent tragedy in Connecticut. The season finale was originally scheduled to air this Friday, but Syfy has pushed the release to January and will air both episodes back-to-back:

“Last Friday’s 10PM episode of Haven contained scenes of fictitious violence in a high school setting and in light of the recent tragedy, we have decided to reschedule it along with the series’ season three finale, originally slated to air this Friday, December 21st at 10PM. The final two episodes of season three of Haven will now air back-to-back on Thursday, January 17th from 8-10 PM (ET/PT) to maintain the integrity of the series’ serialized nature.”

In the premiere, Haven picks up immediately following the events of the gripping season two finale with Audrey (Emily Rose) having been kidnapped; Nathan (Lucas Bryant) warned against pursuing a romantic relationship with Audrey; and Duke (Eric Balfour) seemingly engaged in a fight to the death with Nathan after he discovers his family lineage is to kill Haven citizens with Troubles

This season’s guest stars include Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey), Bree Williamson (Gossip Girl, One Life to Live), Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, White Collar), Edge (WWE Superstar), Dorian Missick (Southland, The Cape), Kate Kelton (Harold and Kumar, American Psycho 2), Nolan North (Uncharted video game series, Pretty Little Liars), and Claudia Black (Uncharted video game series, Farscape).

Following last year’s successful innovative Twitter campaign, season three will introduce online viewers to a new entity in the Haven mythology—The Guard. Mysterious and deeply entrenched in the history of Haven, The Guard has hijacked Haven social media channels to get their message out—if you are troubled, we can help #EscapeToHaven by @TheGuardHaven. The Guard—represented by Kate Kelton, who portrays ’Jordan McKee” — has taken over Facebook (facebook.com/haven), YouTube (youtube.com/syfyimaginegreater) and Twitter profiles for Haven (Twitter.com/TheGuardHaven), using these social media channels to tell the story of Haven, and to attract new “recruits” to Haven.

Haven, based on the novella The Colorado Kid from renowned author Stephen King, follows former FBI agent Audrey Parker, who becomes a cop in the small town of Haven, Maine, and soon discovers the town’s many secrets, which also hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of her lost past.

During its second season, Haven averaged 2.55 million total viewers and 995,000 Adults18-49, rising four percent among total viewers and five percent among Adults 18-49 compared to season one (Live +7 data)."

News about season 3 of Haven

We all know that Haven has been revewed for a third season and during the New York Comic Con some interesting facts where released. Watch out for some spoilers though.

- Re: The Troubled. Remember the Chameleon from Season 1, Episode 9? The writers say: "We're not done with that one." Might the shapeshifter reappear in the next season? Has one been around this entire time?

- Re: Dwight: The writers were blown away with Adam Copeland's performance, both in auditions and on the actual show. They're aware that Dwight is a fan favorite and they're eager to work with him again--but at the time of the panel, they'd heard about the season 3 renewal some 24 hours prior.

- Re: Nathan's tattoo! This is a potential spoiler, but Lucas Bryant explained that when Nathan got the tattoo we saw in the Season 2 finale... he felt it. I wasn't sure how seriously to take this (Lucas Bryant is a jokester par excellence) but Eric Balfour seemed to think it was legit, since he mentioned the info's spoiler potential and applied to it a verbal hashtag "Epic Fail."

- More shirtless Duke and/or Nathan! OK, this one's mostly a joke, but you're welcome to dream. Eric Balfour: "I actually get to help take his shirt off..."

- More Nathan in general. The writers say that Duke was their envelope to open in S2, and that Nathan's going to be the focus in season 3. Rejoice, pancake fans!

Haven not in danger

I just got word from the people behind Haven who assured me that the article about the series risk being canceled is totally wrong and written by a not very well informed reporter.

Haven in danger?

Could Haven be in danger of being canceled?

An uncertain future for the SyFy drama follows the Canadian drama channel canceling "Almost Heroes," and reordering "Lost Girl" and "King."

TORONTO -- The SyFy drama Haven from Entertainment One and Big Motion Pictures is on the bubble with Showcase channel in Canada.

Showcase programmers are to decide in two weeks on the future of the foreign-spawned drama, which is based on Stephen King's novella 'Colorado Kid' and shoots in Canada.

Haven left in limbo comes as Showcase canceled Almost Heroes, a sitcom about two brothers that starred Ryan Belleville and Paul Campbell.

The Canadian channel has ordered new seasons of Syfy’s Lost Girl from Prodigy Pictures and King, a female cop drama from Indian Grove Productions.

I'm trying to find out more as we speak...

Click for a larger imageGot some really cool Haven prop in the mail today. One was a Haven Police Department (HPD) hat used in the series and the second was the boat that you can see in the beginning of episode 1 (Tale of Two Audrey’s) season 2. These are the actual boats that were used in that scene.

They used two boats while shooting the scene -- when one got too wet, they switched to the other one while someone used a hair dryer on the wet one.

Here is a photo of the press kit SyFy sent out. It has the first episode of Haven as well as the first episodes of Eureka and Warehouse 13. An extra bonus with this one is that the episode of Haven is a rough cut, with temp audio, graphics and effects. Why is this good you might ask? Well, because it gives me a chance to see how the episode is done and that is stuff that I really enjoy seeing. That's why.
