You Did It! You Sent Me To The US!

You sent me to the US! Back in the end of May I asked for your help in getting to the US and cover one of Stephen & Owen’s stop at their Sleeping Beauties tour. And man, did you ever! Today, July 19 (not even two months later) we’ve have reached the $2,000 I estimated that I would need to get there. So, with that I will consider the Send Lilja To The US! crowdfunding campaign a success. I will also remove the post about this from the top of the page (to give room for the latest news) but if you feel you still want to participate or read more about it you can do so here.

I took a chance and bought a ticket to the New York (now sold out) event when they were released so that is where I will be on September 26th. My plan is to report about it as much as I can on Lilja’s Library. Live if I can (if there is wifi) or as soon as I can if not. I won’t be doing anything live from the event though as they have a no camera policy that I want to respect.

I also hope to meet a lot of you while there. I want to talk to you about King and hear your thoughts on the event, say “Hi” and thank you for all your support during the 21 years Lilja’s Library has been online. Maybe do something for The Stephen King Podcast if any of you are up for it.

Last I want to thank every single one of you that helped me with this. It wouldn’t have been possible without you! From the bottom of my heart, Thanks!

Send Lilja To The US! Update #1

24 hours after I posted the article Send Lilja To The US! I have already gotten a lot of good feedback and donations from a lot of you out there. More than I dared to hope for! And I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for helping me achieve this goal. Unfortunately, I don’t get your email when you send a donation through PayPal. If I did I would thank each and every one of you personally but I guess this is the next best thing, right?

So, again, thanks to all of you that have donated and maybe we’ll meet in the fall?

Send Lilja To The US!

I need your help! I want to go to the US this fall and attend one of the stops on Stephen and Owen’s Sleeping Beauties tour. Living in Sweden though that means a lot of $$$ for airplane tickets and hotel and this is where I need your help. I can’t pull this off without your help!

“Why should I help you go to the US when I can’t go myself?” some of you might ask. Or maybe you can go and still wonder why you should help me? Well, that is a very relevant question and I will try to answer it as best I can.

I would lie if I said anything other than “I want to go to the US and see Stephen and Owen and I can’t do it without your help!” That is the truth and there is no going around that. BUT, I also want to share this experience with you all. What it’s like to travel from Sweden to the US, what it’s like to see Stephen and Owen live, what it’s like to meet a lot of other Stephen and Owen fans (I hope to meet a lot of you while I’m there). In short, I want to share my experience with all of you and I want to do it here on Lilja’s Library. Both live and in retrospect.

But as I said it will take $$$ to make this happen and for that I’m doing my own Crowdfunding here on Lilja’s Library. I have estimated that I need $2,000 to make this happen. So, what I’m doing is asking you all to help me out here. It doesn’t have to be much if a lot of people chip in. And, if I don’t reach the $2,000 I will return every last cent to everyone who have donated. This is for this trip or not at all. On the other hand, if there is more money than the $2,000 I’m seeking I will donate those to The Haven Foundation. And to get started I’m putting in 10% ($200) myself.

And to make this a bit more attractive I will give one of you who donate (this person will be drawn on random and not by how much he or she donates) a copy of my upcoming book “Shining in the Dark”, personalized as thanks! But remember, if I don’t reach the goal of $2,000 before August 29th (which is also my birthday) I will resend all the donations and forget all about it. You will be able to follow the progress here on Lilja’s Library the entire time.
