Us Getting Revival
Posted: November 12, 2014, 22:35:45King’s latest book, Revival, is out and I would like to do the same thing I did when Mr Mercedes was released. I want to put together a page with photos of you all and your copy of Revival. All you need to do is send me a photo (this should open an email but if it dosn't, send the photo to info[a]liljas-library.com) of yourself and the book (any edition works) and I’ll post them here. If you don’t want to send it by email you can also post it on the facebook page and I’ll grab it there. I would also like to ask you to include your name, town and country so that I can list that with the photo. You can see what it will look like at the Mr Mercedes page.
With the release of Mr Mercedes over 200 of you sent in a photo but I think we can do better with Revival, right? Check out all the Revival photos here.

The Bazaar of Bad Dreams

King is already looking ahead to next year, with Finders Keepers (the sequel to Mr. Mercedes) out in June.
And in the fall of 2015 there will be a new collection of stories called The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, which'll collect about 20 short tales. It should be a pretty fat book.

New King Interview
Posted: November 7, 2014, 10:00:00Here is a new interview with King about Revival but he also mentions two other very interesting things. The first one is that he is working on something with his son Owen. No info about what or when we might read it but it will be interesting to see how they collaborate.
I enjoy working with them, though, because we fit together. I've got something going with Owen now, and I've collaborated with Joe on two novellas, Throttle and In the Tall Grass.
The other thing is that he isn’t done with Stu and Frannie from The Stand. There is still a short story about them that needs to be told…
There's one Stand story that still needs to be told, although it's not a long one. I happen to know that when [Stand characters] Stu Redman and Frannie Goldsmith headed back to New England (with their baby), Frannie fell into a dry well. That's all I know. I'd have to write the story to find out what happens.
Check out the entire interview here.

Prepare For Revival

As Revival is perhaps Stephen's darkest novel to date, some Constant Readers may wish to take some time to prepare for the experience of reading the story.
Prepare for Revival is intended for Stephen's fans to explore the dark side of the human condition in anticipation of reading the novel. Prepare for Revival invites you to explore and anonymously share your innermost thoughts on the major themes contained within the story.
Users can safely and securely post their experiences and feelings about Faith, Tragedy, Disillusion, Addiction, Curiosity, Obsession, Death and The Afterlife.
Once users have read the novel, fans can also post their thoughts on Revival, its plot, characters, events and the larger-than-life climax.

Are You Going To The Signings in Nov? Read This!
Posted: September 15, 2014, 09:57:44All of you that are planning to go to any of the signings in November; keep your eyes open today as the details will be released. The moderator of King’s board did reveal some general info this weekend though that you might find interesting.
First, not all events are going to be straight book signings but that information will be given on Monday for each venue.
This probably means King will do a reading at one or more stops and if you can, don’t miss this. I have been to two and King is a natural on stage!
Only REVIVAL will be allowed for signing at the events that are book signings, so it would not be possible to get any other book or other memorabilia signed in its place.
This is always the case when King do a signing but at those I have been to there has always been people brining other books. Some have gotten them signed and some hasn’t. Not sure why though.
Additionally, book signings are limited to two hours so events will be ticketed and only those who have a ticket will be able to have their copy of REVIVAL signed.
This means BE ON YOUR TOES! My guess is that we’ll find out today how to get tickets and as you see you are going to need them to get your book signed. I’m not sure how many books King can sign in two hours but my guess would be around 600 (think he did 610 in France in two hours) and I can bet you that there will be more than 600 that wants to attend.
SO, KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND IF YOU WANT TO GO! GET A TICKET AS SOON AS THEY ARE RELEASED. Sorry for the caps but this is really important if you want to go.

Book Tour For Revival?
Posted: August 19, 2014, 10:13:16Remember that King said there wouldn’t be a book tour during 2014? Well, that seems to have changed and the moderator of King’s site said yesterday that they would be announcing when and where next week.
We're planning to announce cities and dates the week of August 25th but final details won't come until later in September once they're worked out.
So, keep calm and wait for the announcement. And my guess is that it will only be the US this time but we’ll know for sure next week

Description of Revival
Posted: January 31, 2014, 23:31:14Here is a description of Revival that's being released later this year.
From master storyteller Stephen King comes Revival, a spectacularly dark and riveting novel about addiction, religion, fanaticism, and what might exist on the other side of life.
In a small New England town more than half a century ago, a boy is playing with his new toy soldiers in the dirt in front of his house when a shadow falls over him. He looks up to see a striking man, the new minister, Jamie learns later, who with his beautiful wife, will transform the church and the town. The men and boys are a bit in love with Mrs. Jacobs; the women and girls, with the Reverend Jacobs — including Jamie’s sisters and mother. Then tragedy strikes, and this charismatic preacher curses God, and is banished from the shocked town.
Jamie has demons of his own. Wed to his guitar from age 13, he plays in bands across the country, running from his own family tragedies, losing one job after another when his addictions get the better of him. Decades later, sober and living a decent life, he and Reverend Charles Jacobs meet again in a pact beyond even the Devil’s devising, and the many terrifying meanings of Revival are revealed.
King imbues this spectacularly rich and dark novel with everything he knows about music, addiction, and religious fanaticism, and every nightmare we ever had about death. This is a masterpiece from King, in the great American tradition of Frank Norris, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Edgar Allan Poe.
King on Revival
Posted: August 12, 2013, 14:59:26During his recent event at the Mark Twain House event in Hartford, King had this to say about Revival:
The main character is a kid who learns how to play guitar, and I can relate to this guy because he's not terribly good. He's just good enough to catch on with a number of bands and play for a lot of years. The song that he learns to play first is the song that I learned to play first, which was 'Cherry, Cherry' by Neil Diamond. One of the great rock progressions: E-A-D-A.
