2020 Audie Awards to Honor Stephen King for Lifetime Achievement in New York City on March 2.
Mr. King, a four-time Audie Award® winner and seventeen-time nominee, is the author of more than sixty books, all of them worldwide bestsellers. A long-time advocate for audiobooks, Mr. King once wrote of his love of the format: “The spoken word is the acid test. They don’t call it storytelling for nothing.” Mr. King has narrated some of his own audiobooks, published audiobook originals, and has used his megaphone to highlight the joys of listening.
2020 is here and Lilja’s Library is starting its 24th year as the number one fan site for everything Stephen King related. And for that I want to thank you!
Even though it’s true that if no one visited the site I’d probably still keep it up and running and posting stuff, but I would lie if I said anything other than it’s you that makes it fun!
What makes it fun is all of you that come here and read what I write. All of you that comment on the stuff that I write. All of you that out of the blue contact me and want to talk Stephen King. That is what makes my day and I hope you’ll keep making my day for many years to come by visiting the site, by commenting on facebook, twitter or Instagram, by sending me messages showing me your collection or asking some question about King or his work.
In 2020 I’ll keep posting news about Stephen King and his work and I’ll keep reviewing and interviewing people that is in some way involved with Stephen King and his work. I will also plan how to celebrate the fact that the site turns 25 years next year, we do need to celebrate right? And how do you celebrate something that has been a big part in your life a quarter of a century? If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know!
And last (and least fun). If you want to help out financing the site, I appreciate donations, small or big through my paypal.
Again, thank you all and let’s make 2020 the best year yet!

2020 inleds med nyheten att Ekström & Garay släpper Varsel i Mörkret (Shining in the Dark) på svenska i storpocket under våren. Exakt datum och omslag kommer.
Swedish publisher Ekström & Garay will release Varsel i Mörkret (Shining in the Dark) in a Swedish trade paperback in the spring of 2020. Exact date and cover to come.
2019 was a great year. We got a new book, we got new movies and we got a few TV series. Stephen King is more popular that he has been for years. New fans find his work every day (even if some go through the movies) and we old fans love that he is still as productive as he is.
My favorites this year are as follows.
Book:The Institute. Not much competition there since this was one of those rare years where King only released one book.
Movie:Doctor Sleep. I love how they combined the adaptation of the book with the movie (which I don’t even like) and Rebecca Ferguson is one of the best castings in a King movie I have seen. IT part 2 came in a close second followed by In the Tall Grass. I do my best to forget the remake of Pet Sematary which was awful.
TV Series: Season 2 of Castle Rock. I love the backstory to Annie Wilkes. The third season of Mr. Mercedes worked but it wasn’t as good as it could have been.
As for myself, I have made a lot of new friends over the year from all over the world and I hope to make even more in 2020. I did 23 lectures about King all over Sweden and the anthology Shining in the Dark was released in 5 new editions. 2020 will see much of the same. I will continue to do lectures about King. 8 so far has been booked in the spring (with more to follow) and I already know about 6 new editions of Shining in the Dark being released in 2020 making it a total of 19 (how about that Dark Tower lovers?) different editions in 10 different languages.
But in the end I want to thank you. If you didn’t read my site, Lilja’s Library, if you didn’t read Shining in the Dark or if you didn’t attend my lectures about King nothing of this would be possible. You make it happen and for that I am very grateful. Hopefully you will follow me into 2020 and keep reading what I write, keep sending me messages telling me about yourself and your King obsession (I love that) and keep coming to my lectures. If you do that I promise I’ll do my best to keep you updated on everything that happens in King’s world and hopefully throw in a few surprises along the way…
So, thanks for being there with your support. I hope I’ll see you in 2020!
